Gregor Božič
Director
Gregor Božič is a Slovenian director, screenwriter, and cinematographer, born in 1984 in Šempeter pri Gorici. He studied film directing, cinematography, and contemporary art at the AGRFT in Ljubljana, DFFB in Berlin, and Le Fresnoy - National Studio for Contemporary Arts in Tourcoing, France.
His films have been screened and awarded at major international film festivals, including Cannes, Toronto, Locarno, Rotterdam, New York, Tallinn, and others. His debut feature film STORIES FROM THE CHESTNUT WOODS, coauthored with Marina Gumzi, premiered at Toronto in 2019.
As a director of photography, he collaborates with other filmmakers, notably Nebojša Slijepčević (THE MAN WHO COULD NOT REMAIN SILENT, Palme d'Or winner for Best Short Film in 2024), Matjaž Ivanišin (PLAYING MEN 2017, OROSLAN 2019), and Igor Bezinović (FIUME O MORTE! 2025).
