Małgosia Bela

Malgosia Bela was born in 1977 in Kraków, Poland. In 1998 she was studying for an MA in English Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, as well as The Academy of Music, when a chance meeting with a Warsaw modelling agent resulted in a trip to New York. In the following years Malgosia has appeared on countless Vogue covers, worked with the legends such as Richard Avedon, Peter Lindbergh, Peter Beard, and has been the face of Gucci, Valentino, Chloe, Vuitton, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Hermes and many more. She has also starred in films such as Malgorzata Szumowska’s ONO and Luca Guadagnino’s SUSPIRIA. 2023 marked the 25th anniversary of her career, summed up in the monograph WINTER GIRL. Malgosia wrote and produced the short film MUSE, directed by her husband Paweł Pawlikowski, where she performed alongside Polish pianist Marcin Masecki.
