Marcin Masecki

Musician

Marcin Masecki is one of Poland’s most prolific and idiosyncratic musicians. Winner of many awards, he performs on all keyboard instruments, composes, conducts, sings, educates, produces, records and curates musical events. Marcin’s virtuosic fusion of different genres and styles as well as the blurring of the line between high art and entertainment, have become his hallmarks.

With his jazz trio or big band, he brings a fresh take on Latin American classics, as his latest album BOLEROS Y MÁS offers a personal journey through the Latin American tradition. In the classical scene, Marcin performs with chamber groups and with orchestras as soloist and/or conductor. His iconic albums include BEETHOVEN: THE LAST SONATAS and CHOPIN: NOCTURNES. Performing on his small beat-up upright piano, Marcin questions the classical world’s dependence on immaculate perfection.

As a film composer, Marcin worked on STRANGE HEAVEN (2015) by Dariusz Gajewski and BACK TO THOSE DAYS (2021) by Konrad Aksinowicz, for which he won the Polish Film Award for Best Film Score in 2022. With Paweł Pawlikowski, he worked on COLD WAR (2018), and recently also as an actor in Pawlikowski’s new short MUSE (2025).
