Juraj Lerotić
Director
Juraj Lerotić is a Croatian director born in 1978 in Kiel, Germany. He studied film and television directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. In 2012, he made the short film THEN I SEE TANJA, which premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. His debut feature, SAFE PLACE (2022), premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and took home Best Director, Best Actor and Best First Feature awards. At the Sarajevo Film Festival, SAFE PLACE was awarded the Heart of Sarajevo for best film, while Lerotić received the Heart of Sarajevo awarded to the best male actor.
