Sara Stijović

Director

Sara Stijović is a Montenegrin director, born in 1997 in Podgorica. She graduated in Film and Television Directing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje and earned a master’s degree through the KinoEyes – KEM European Film Masters.

Her films have been screened at BAFTA- and Oscar-qualifying festivals, and she is the first filmmaker from Montenegro selected for La Fabrique Cinéma at Cannes. She is also an alumna of Sarajevo Talents and Al Jazeera Ambassadors.

Her short films include A TIN OF WHITE, TO BEFLOWER MARBLE and IDOT ON CUE.

She is currently developing the mini-series PRAY FOR US, the creative documentary THE 13TH FISH, and the short feature SOURDOUGH.

Sara programs the student section of the Herceg Novi Film Festival - Montenegro Film Festival.

Her first bilingual book on Vlatko Gilić is forthcoming.
