Joanna Kulig at Slano for a Screening of COLD WAR
Joanna Kulig, the award-winning Polish actress best known internationally for her outstanding performance in COLD WAR by Paweł Pawlikowski, is a guest at this year’s Slano Film Days.
Joanna Kulig will take part in a Film Talk with regional participants, moderated by Paweł Pawlikowski, where she will share insights into their long-standing collaboration and reflect on her international acting career. A longtime artistic collaborator and muse of Pawlikowski, Kulig delivered acclaimed performances not only in COLD WAR, but also in his films THE WOMAN IN THE FIFTH and IDA, the Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language Film, as well as in his new film FATHERLAND.
Alongside her roles in Pawlikowski’s films, which brought her international recognition and established her as one of the leading actresses of her generation, Joanna Kulig has appeared in major international productions. Most recently, she appeared in the miniseries MASTERS OF THE AIR, produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, and in SHE CAME TO ME by Rebecca Miller, alongside Peter Dinklage, Anne Hathaway and Marisa Tomei. She also received special acclaim for her work in THE EDDY by Damien Chazelle, as well as for her performances in ELLES with Juliette Binoche, CLERGY, KOMPROMAT and ISOLA. In KNOX GOES AWAY, she stars opposite Michael Keaton, while this year she can also be seen in the Netflix historical drama miniseries LEAD CHILDREN.
COLD WAR, which won the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival and received three Oscar nominations, will screen on Tuesday, June 16, at the Villa Riva Open-Air Cinema in Slano as the opening film of this year’s Slano Film Days. Admission to the screening is free of charge.
