Ivan Marinović

Ivan Marinović, born in 1984 in Kotor, Montenegro, graduated in industrial design from Politecnico di Milano in 2007 and completed his master’s degree in directing at FAMU in Prague in 2011. His feature film debut Igla ispod praga (Needle Under the Threshold) premiered in the competitive selection at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2016 and was Montenegro's submission for the 86th Academy Awards. His film Živi i zdravi (Alive and Well) won the K. Kieślowski Award for Best Screenplay at the ScriptEast workshop in Cannes in 2019. It had its world premiere in the official competition at the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn in 2023. To date, it has been screened at over 30 festivals and has won several awards, including the Fedeora Award for Best Film at the Montenegro Film Festival. He is also a co-producer of the films Sam samcat (All Alone) by Bob Jelčić and Radnička klasa ide u raj (The Working Class Goes to Heaven) by Mladen Đorđević. Ivan is currently in production on 15 episodes of the TV series Hotel**, starring Nikola Đuričko in the lead role. He is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA).
