Ivan Marinović

Director

Ivan Marinović is a Montenegrin film director, born in 1984 in Kotor. He graduated in industrial design from the Politecnico di Milano in 2007, and completed his Master’s degree in Film Directing at FAMU in Prague in 2011.

His feature debut THE BLACK PIN premiered in the competition section of the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2016 and was Montenegro’s official submission for the 86th Academy Awards. His film FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE won the Krzysztof Kieślowski Award for Best Screenplay at the ScriptEast workshop in Cannes in 2019. It premiered in the official selection of the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn in 2023. It has been screened at over 30 festivals and has received several awards, including the Fedeora Award for Best Film at the Montenegro Film Festival.

Ivan is also the co-producer of the films ALL ALONE by Bobo Jelčić and THE WORKING CLASS GOES TO HELL by Mladen Đorđević.

He is currently in production on 15 episodes of the TV series HOTEL***, starring Nikola Đuričko in the lead role.

He is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA).
