Lopud Artist Retreat 2025

Serbian director and screenwriter Nađa Petrović has been selected for the Lopud Artist Retreat in the spring 2025. Nađa will spend four weeks on the island of Lopud, co-writing the screenplay for the film TWO THIRDS OF ONE FIFTH by director Vladimir Tagić, who was a participant at the 2024 Slano Film Days.

I see the Lopud Artist Retreat as an opportunity to isolate myself from the world, and have time in beautiful nature to completely immerse myself in my thoughts, and then begin writing them down. I’m excited to work on the screenplay for Vladimir Tagić’s film while also contemplating other future projects. I expect to be much more productive in such peace and quiet compared to the chaos of city life. I can’t wait!

TWO THIRDS OF ONE FIFTH - synopsis

VESNA (64) has been living alone for some time. Her daughter, ELI (38), lives in another city, her son has moved overseas, and her husband has passed away. Vesna decides to legalize her late husband’s house but discovers that the deed for two thirds of one fifth of the property is missing, making the legalization process impossible. When her daughter Eli visits for the weekend, burdened with her own personal problems, Vesna seizes the opportunity to begin a joint search for the heir of Milorad Mijailović, who passed away long ago, hoping to get the missing deed signed. In this search, mother and daughter become entangled in the complicated story of the Mijailović family, prompting them to reevaluate their past, present, and future. While Vesna grapples with the meaning of life, Eli begins to question whether Vesna is losing her mind.
