Maja Izetbegović

MAJA IZETBEGOVIĆ lives and works in Sarajevo. She graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo in 2008 and has built a successful career in both film and theatre in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. She is known for her roles in feature films, including OUR EVERYDAY LIFE (2015), THE SON (2019), EXCURSION (2023), and HOTEL PULA, as well as in many short films. The film EXCURSION (2023) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, where it won a Special Recognition Award. She has also appeared in TV series, including I KNOW YOUR SOUL (2023) and FRUST. As a member of Kamerni Teatar 55, she has portrayed a wide range of roles. She has performed in over 50 theatre productions, including NORA, ANTIGONE, SHAMED, THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE, IVANOV, DOUBT, THE BOURGEOIS WEDDING, ELIJAH'S CHAIR and many others. For her performances in both theatre productions and films, she has won numerous awards.
