Jurij Drevenšek

Actor

Jurij Drevenšek is a Slovenian actor born in 1985 in Maribor. He graduated from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television at the University of Ljubljana. Jurij has played over 40 theatre roles, among them many title ones, such as Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Macbeth. Jurij played his first leading role in the film BREAD AND CIRCUSES (2012), which won the Best Film Award in Slovenia. In the same year, he participated in the 2012 Berlinale Talents. His recent leading roles include those in THE CURSE OF VALBURGA (2019) and HALF-SISTER (2019), which was included in the competition program of the Karlovy Vary Festival. Another feature film in which he acted, WAKE ME (2022), was included in the competition program of the Tallinn Black Nights. Some of his supporting film roles are those in NOMAD (2023) and CHAIN REACTION (2023), whereas his more recent supporting TV roles include the Austrian TV crime series YOUR HONOR (2022), the Swedish TV series AGENT HAMILTON (2022) and the Slovenian TV series CASES OF INSPECTOR VRENKO (2021).
