Urška Djukić

Director

URŠKA DJUKIĆ is a Slovenian director born in 1986. She studied at the Academy of Arts, University of Nova Gorica. Her first professional animated short, “Bon Appétit, La Vie!”, won the Best Short Film Award at the 19th Festival of Slovenian Film. In 2018 she was invited to participate at SEE Factory – Southeast Europe, a joint project for young directors curated by Directors’ Fortnight and Sarajevo Film Festival. There she co-directed a short film “The Right One”, which premiered at the Cannes Festival in 2019. In the same year, she was selected for the 39th Cinéfondation Residence in Paris, where she started developing her debut film, “Little Trouble Girls”. This year her debut was selected among the 10 projects for Torino Film Lab 2021. By combining live-action, animation elements and various forms of experimental techniques, Urška Djukić creates hybrid visual narratives and is especially focused on exploring topics of contemporary womanhood.
