Samir Karahoda
Director
Samir Karahoda is a Kosovo-based photographer, filmmaker, and cinematographer born in 1977. With a BA and MFA in Photography from Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul, he has also curated DokuFest's short film program for over 20 years. His directorial debut, short documentary IN BETWEEN (2019), premiered at the Berlinale. His second short, DISPLACED (2021), premiered in Official Competition at Cannes, winning multiple awards, including the IMDb Pro Short Cuts Award at TIFF, Best Nonfiction at Sundance, and a nomination for the European Film Awards. His third short film, ON THE WAY (2024) was also selected for Cannes and TIFF. He is currently developing his first feature, LOST FRAMES.
