Steve Buscemi and Daniel Brühl to attend Slano Film Days 2025

The 2nd edition of Slano Film Days will take place from June 17 to 21, and the presence of world-renowned filmmakers confirms Slano’s growing reputation as a meeting place for filmmakers and film enthusiasts.

While last year's edition focused mainly on directors, this year’s program will spotlight Film Talks with world-renowned actors. Legendary Steve Buscemi, whose contribution to cinema is immeasurable, and the exceptional Daniel Brühl, celebrated for his acting virtuosity by both audiences and critics, will share their insights and experiences with talented regional filmmakers.

Steve Buscemi, often hailed as the king of independent film, is an award-winning actor, screenwriter, director, and producer. With his distinctive appearance and unparalleled acting energy, Buscemi has built his career in independent cinema and become an icon of the New York scene, consistently choosing art and authenticity over Hollywood glamour. His film credits include RESERVOIR DOGS, FARGO, and THE BIG LEBOWSKI. On television, he starred in HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE and appeared in acclaimed TV series such as  MIRACLE WORKERS and THE SOPRANOS. He is currently working on a new film , WILD HORSE NINE, directed by Martin McDonagh, for Searchlight Pictures.

Slano’s audience will have the opportunity to see Buscemi in his latest starring role in PSYCHO THERAPY: THE SHALLOW TALE OF A WRITER WHO DECIDED TO WRITE ABOUT A SERIAL KILLER, which recently won the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film’s director, Tolga Karaçelik, will also be among the festival’s distinguished guests.

Daniel Brühl, the award-winning German-Spanish actor, producer, and director, gained international acclaim for his role in Wolfgang Becker’s GOOD BYE, LENIN!. He went on to star in Quentin Tarantino’s INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS and Ron Howard’s RUSH, the latter earning him a Golden Globe nomination in 2014. His leading role in TNT’s series THE ALIENIST earned him a Golden Globe nomination in 2019. His production company, Amusement Park, produced ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT, which received 4 Oscars, 7 BAFTAs, and 9 LOLA awards. Brühl has also directed and starred in NEXT DOOR and produced Julie Delpy’s MY ZOE. He will appear alongside Kirsten Dunst in Ruben Östlund’s upcoming film THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM IS DOWN.
