Day 1 - Opening of Slano Film Days 2024

The Slano Film Days opened tonight with a press conference held in a beautiful and intimate garden of Villa Riva, which was attended by all participants and guests of the 2024 Slano Film Days.

Founder Miro Purivatra addressed the attendees: “Our wish is to create a place where it is possible to talk about film without the pressure of competitive programs. We want this to be a place where filmmakers meet and inspire each other. The concept is very simple, young and already established directors, actors, and cinematographers meet with prominent filmmakers and film professionals. Our aim is to make Slano a thriving meeting place for filmmakers. I thank all the people of Slano, especially Slano Mayor Nikola Knežić and Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić, who contributed to making it possible for all of us to be here tonight.”

After the press conference, the film CHILDREN OF MEN by one of today's greatest directors Alfonso Cuarón was screened. Before the film screening, the director, a five-time Oscar winner, addressed the audience:

“It is an honor and a privilege to be part of this festival. Thank you all for coming to this screening. I am deeply honored that my film will be shown in such a beautiful place.”

The partner of the Festival is Sarajevo Film Festival, and the main sponsors of the Festival are Atlantic Group and Coca-Cola.
