Screenings at Slano Film Days 2025
This year’s edition of Slano Film Days will feature evening screenings of both cult classics and the latest film titles, handpicked by this year’s guests, renowned international filmmakers and artists.
The opening night, June 17, will feature the Oscar-winning film ANOTHER ROUND by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg, starring Mads Mikkelsen, selected for SFD by Juho Kuosmanen.
On the second night, June 18, two screenings are scheduled. The short film MUSE will be introduced by director Paweł Pawlikowski and Małgosia Bela, who wrote the screenplay, designed the costumes, produced the film, and also starred in the film alongside Polish pianist, composer, and conductor Marcin Masecki. Masecki will perform a live piano accompaniment during the screening. Selected by Pawlikowski, the same evening will feature a screening of THE THIRD MAN, directed by Carol Reed. This 1949 noir classic, which the British Film Institute named the best British film of all time in 1999, will be introduced by Pawlikowski.
On Thursday, June 19, in the garden of Vila Riva, there will be a screening of PSYCHO THERAPY: THE SHALLOW TALE OF A WRITER WHO DECIDED TO WRITE ABOUT A SERIAL KILLER, a dark comedy written, directed, and co-produced by Turkish director Tolga Karaçelik, starring Steve Buscemi. The film, which won the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival, will be introduced by both the director and the legendary actor, who are both guests of Slano Film Days.
On June 20, in tribute to the recently deceased director Wolfgang Becker, and selected by another SFD guest, Daniel Brühl, the German historical dramedy GOOD BYE LENIN! (2003) will be screened. Brühl, who played the leading role in the film, will introduce the screening in Slano.
The final screening, on Saturday, June 21, will feature the iconic Spike Lee film DO THE RIGHT THING, introduced by director of photography Michael Seresin, this year’s guest of SFD.
The screenings will take place at the main square in Slano and in the garden of Vila Riva, starting at 9:30 PM. Admission to all screenings is free of charge.
