Irish actor Liam Cunningham, best known for portraying Davos Seaworth in HBO’s GAME OF THRONES, joins us in Slano for the first time at this year’s edition.

This year’s edition of Slano Film Days will feature evening screenings of films selected by our guests, renowned international filmmakers.

American film stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard are among this year’s guests at Slano Film Days. One of America’s most prominent actor-filmmaker couples, will present Gyllenhaal’s new film THE BRIDE! in Slano.

Internationally acclaimed cinematographer Michael Seresin returns to Slano this year to lead the three-day practical workshop Acting in front of the Camera for regional actors and actresses who participated in previous editions of Slano Film Days.

Award-winning director Ruben Östlund, a two-time Palme d’Or winner and one of the most prominent contemporary European filmmakers, returns to Slano this year, and this time he will present a selection of short films to the local audience.

Joanna Kulig, the award-winning Polish actress best known internationally for her outstanding performance in COLD WAR by Paweł Pawlikowski, is a guest at this year’s Slano Film Days.

A regular guest and close friend of Slano Film Days, Paweł Pawlikowski returns to Slano with his new film FATHERLAND, which received the Best Director award at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival.

The Family Film Weekend, a traditional cinematic warm-up ahead of the third edition of Slano Film Days, will take place on June 13 and 14 at the open-air cinema Villa Riva in Slano.

The third edition of Slano Film Days, a film event that brings together emerging regional filmmakers with prominent names from the world of film and the film industry, will take place from 16 to 20 June 2026. 

The UNIQA SEE FUTURE Foundation, in cooperation with the Sarajevo Film Festival and Slano Film Days, announces the open call for the second edition of the Female Filmmakers Support Programme for 2026.

Serbian director Jelena Gavrilović has been selected for the Lopud Artist Retreat in spring 2026. Jelena will spend four weeks on the island of Lopud working on her first feature film with the working title 13 SQUARE METERS.

At the inaugural AFA Awards (Adriatic Film & TV Awards), held on October 25 in Porto Montenegro in Tivat,  the region’s best achievements in film and television were honored.

Slano Film Days 2025 concluded on Saturday, June 21, in an atmosphere of community and dialogue. Over the course of five intensive days, young filmmakers from the region exchanged ideas, experiences, and visions with acclaimed professionals from the global film scene.

On the fifth day of this year’s edition of Slano Film Days, the UNIQA SEE FUTURE Foundation, in collaboration with the Sarajevo Film Festival and Slano Film Days, announced five film projects selected as part of the Female Filmmakers Support Programme. 

Conversations about film and life with Daniel Brühl marked the final day of Slano Film Days 2025, along with a screening of DO THE RIGHT THING by Spike Lee.

The fourth day of Slano Film Days 2025 was marked by the Film Talk with Steve Buscemi and concluded with a screening of GOOD BYE, LENIN!, selected by Daniel Brühl. 

The Film Talk with director Ruben Östlund, one-on-one meetings, and the screening of a new film starring Steve Buscemi marked the third day of Slano Film Days 2025. 

The second day of Slano Film Days 2025 began with brief introductions and presentations by all participants from Croatia and the region, and continued with film talks and two screenings.

This evening, guests and participants of Slano Film Days 2025 gathered for an informal evening in the garden of Villa Riva in Slano, joined by media representatives.

As previously announced, leading up to the start of Slano Film Days 2025, a Family Film Weekend is being held in Slano, organized by the Municipality of Slano and the Slano Tourist Board, aimed at film lovers of all ages.

The special guests of this year’s edition of Slano Film Days will share their experiences and insights with young film professionals from Croatia and the region through open one-on-one conversations.

We are one month away from the second edition of Slano Film Days, which will once again feature Film Talks with renowned international and regional directors. 

The 2nd edition of Slano Film Days will take place from June 17 to 21, and the presence of world-renowned filmmakers confirms Slano’s growing reputation as a meeting place for filmmakers and film enthusiasts.

We are announcing the final list of 14 participants who will participate in Film Talks and workshops in the fields of acting, directing, or cinematography at the 2nd edition of Slano Film Days, taking place from June 17 to 21.

The Film Centre of Montenegro and the UNIQA SEE FUTURE Foundation have signed an agreement to join the "Female Filmmakers Support Programme" at a press conference held in Podgorica.

The “Female Filmmakers Support Programme” aims to support and empower women in film from the six countries where UNIQA operates in South East Europe.

The second edition of Slano Film Days, which connects emerging filmmakers and eminent names from the world of film and the film industry, will take place 17 - 21 June 2025 in Slano and the Elaphiti Islands.
